Formerly Strangers: Volume 3 — Distant Shores invites guests on a culinary journey across the Pacific, exploring the intersection of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine through an evening of bold flavors, cultural discovery, and meaningful connection.

The multi-course menu is crafted by Executive Chef Juan Jimenez, whose experience includes acclaimed Chicago establishments Roister, S.K.Y., and The Chicago Club. Formally trained at The French Pastry School, Juan brings a thoughtful balance of technique, creativity, and craftsmanship to the table.

Complementing the experience is Esprezcal, a Chicago-based startup reimagining the coffee cocktail through a distinctive blend of espresso and mezcal. Inspired by Mexican drinking culture and sobremesa—the tradition of lingering around the table long after a meal—Esprezcal embodies the spirit of connection at the heart of Formerly Strangers.
